Evaluation

I began my development by drawing up a plan. I used graphics pens and fine liners to make sketches of what I wanted my final piece to look like. I decided to use synthetic organza to create my ruffle as I had used this when sampling and I like the tactile qualities when it is made into a ruffle. I sampled with a small piece of fabric and was happy with the outcome which confirmed how it was to create my final piece. I also decided to add dyed and embellished strips of Lutradur which I burnt at the ends using the heat gun. I hand stitched these into place to keep them secure.

I have now completed my final piece. To complete my piece I added hook and eyes to the ends of the ruffle to secure it onto the neck. I used Millie to model my piece and the outcome of the shoot was very successful. At this scale I could see my piece in a fashion context however if I was to change my piece I could see it enlarged in an interior setting. Overall I am happy with my outcome as the finished piece went to plan. I think the tactile qualities of the embroidery and Lutradur work with the smooth surface of the organza.
